Disability
Awareness Training

The term "Disability" actually covers a very wide range of illnesses and impairments. These including asthma, tuberculosis, AIDS, cancer, angina, diabetes, hypertension, stuttering, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, dyslexia, blindness or vision impairment, deafness or hearing impairment, and paralysis. Under the rules of the Disability Discrimination Act, Disability is defined as "a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, a record of such impairment, or a perception of such impairment."

Our experienced staff will make people aware of the varied but often simple adjustments required to meet a disabled persons needs, for example speaking to the person in a wheelchair and not the person pushing. This will not only achieve greater inclusion for all, but also help those businesses requesting the training to be compliant with the services provisions of the DDA.

There are about 10 million disabled people living in the UK - all of whom are potential customers of service providers.
It is estimated that disabled people spend around £50 billion a year on goods and services.

We can provide training at our premises for groups of up to 20 people from different employers, and an in-house service for larger employers.
